I made me my own Lotus T127 in 1/24 scale from Bahrain GP, Heikki Kovalainen. First time I did myself everything including colorization. It was a funny month because I wanted to finish it till the day of one paper exhibition, where all kind of Lotus F1 paper cars should be presented. I wanted new Malaysian Lotus to be there too and I did it. In future maybe it will be released as a purchase paper model, but some of my friends should rework my not profesional colorization. Anyway I am happy with my work and I think in future I will color my new models just from beginning of their construction. It was printed by ink-jet printer to 120g paper. Acrylic clear coat from 8 layers was the finalization.

Calcutate always from reality, if you can. Tamiya is not a good reference. I worked now on Ferrari 312B and Tamiya kit is soooo much out of reality! The best thing is to rely on pictures. I always put a picture to ACAD software and overdraw it with lines. So I get the best I could. Here is for instance, how I drew FW30: Of course, there can be problem of finding the right picture, but picture is the best reference. And - of course - official data. But who gives you official data? Many data, which can be find on net are not right, they can differ a little bit from reality.

what paper size should i use for the brawn guys? thanks I think 120g paper A4 will be OK. Some use 160g paper, but for me it is too much.

Hello, It is in fact no McLaren, but it is my FW30 Williams, repainted and a little bit reworked so it looks like McLaren. It is made by a nick "paya", who asked me before that. I gave him my approval for using Williams as the base (it is free, so why not?). So you need - I think - to take all missing things from my Williams FW30. www.norsonic.sk/img/FW30.zip

Great work! But the rear axle has an angle, as shown in the picture below: Otherwise the rear will be higher than it should. YES, I realized it when I laid model on its side skirts - it sat down so the axle have to have an angle.

A progress. Sidewalls and bottom added. Black bottom part was too long on sides for me and so I cut it off at the back walls of sidepods. Depallier should be Depailler I think. I would like if there was a line on inner side of sidewalls, marking the shape of sidepods. Red color from bottom is my tuning, originally there is only white color of paper. Ribs are not easy to glue on right place, but good eyes and hands can manage it. From inner side there is grey color, I give there a piece of red paper (in fact they are parts 17 and 18, printed again and cut by their red outline). Ccckpit is fixed again with dashboard in correct position. I can say, at the moment I like this model

And you are using a kind of glossy paper? I'm going to buy 140gsm paper for this model. I think that's strong enough. Yes, the paper I used is glossy. It is 135g. If there were no white areas, I would use 120g paper, not glossy. It is strong enough for F1 cars 1/24

I don't understand the problem you describe in the post before with these grey and white parts etc On this picture it is clear: red rectangle should be left white - for dashboard gluing in. Blue rectangle should be "silver" i.e. grey. Igor has it just the opposite. second: the english name for that would be safety bar or roll bar I would like to know, how do you call in English all that small triangles and rectangles, which are assigned only for gluing, they are not a part of model surface. I found in dictionary a word "lapel". Can it be this?
