Robert, please, please be very careful with this project! There are many out there who's job it is to thwart efforts such as yours. I am new to this group and admire all the work you folks are putting into the craft of paper card modelling, and I realize that it is a "labor of love" designing these cars and trucks. However, being a motorsports artist, living in the very heart of NASCAR country, I know all too well how greedy the fraternity can be. Do you realize that Revell-Monogram can no longer depict "GOODYEAR" on thier model decals? GOODYEAR demands royalties now to display thier ADVERTISED name on the side of a model car. And this is just the tip of the iceberg! Everyone wants a piece of anything anymore! Just a heads up on what you may encounter down the road, over what seems like nothing. I hope they don't make a deal out of it but knowing how things go with the crowd around here, I'd be very careful what you do with what you design! I love what you are doing, just watch your back!

Thanks for the advice! I think that we had cases when a paper designer had to remove their creations from his site because of licences problems. What a shame! Even if the models can't be avaliable in a site, they CAN be sent to friends via other ways, like e-mail, for example. Since it is a TOTALY non profit project, I don't see any problem. If they stop someone to distribute nascar paper models, they would have to do the same to all the sim-painting community, and they never did that.

Wow the design looks great so far Robert. It seems simple, yet very effective. You've captured the shape very well, and the coloring looks great also. In light of what racepainter said, I hope no greedy bastard tries to cause you any trouble Best Regards Dustin Basler

A view of the 3 bodies: The front fenders are the most difficult part. I tried 9 versions in the Taurus! I believe that Ford and Chevy are ok now. Dodge needs some modifications in the rear. Next step: mapping - again!!

With the superb painting job by Cornell, here's the first screenshot of the upcoming model. To celebrate Dale's victory at Talladega last week.
