Hello Ryan here from Prototyp... to help kick things off on these squeeky-clean new forums, I thought I'd post a few 'exclusive' sneaky photos of an exciting and challenging long-term project. Introducing the front-half of the 2003 Le Mans-winning Bentley Speed 8: And an older version of the rear roof to help visualize what the rest of it will look like. The model has been almost completely redesigned three times, each revision improving upon the last for proportion and accuracy. Lots of work tho... I must say that the next model I design will have to be done in a CAD application. I'll post more stuff here as things progress... It's been nearly two years of work so far, so I would expect things to continue at a glacial pace.

Rick, it's amazing!! Shure it will be a nice model.
You said you don't use 3D program? It reduces the number of times you re-design the model because what you see in 3d program is exactly what you get in paper. Try the duo Metasequoia/Pepakura.

Some use 120g, some use to mount the parts. I would like you go to the topic to tell us how do you do with your models.

You said you don't use 3D program? It reduces the number of times you re-design the model because what you see in 3d program is exactly what you get in paper. Try the duo Metasequoia/Pepakura. I draw the parts up the old-fashioned way... projecting start-stop points to create splines which map out segments of the paper surface. Until recently I felt this was a good exercise to better understand how paper works when bent into 3d shapes. I took on the Bentley to push my techniques as far as I'd imagine them needing to go. That said, I've been playing in a variety of 3d CAD apps and they seem overly complex (AutoCAD Inventor) or completely devoid of precision (3D Studio)... I'll have to buy a PC and try out some of the simpler Pepkura-type paper-folder apps. The Bentley redesigns weren't due to design problems (the first white-paper model fit together perfectly), but due to finding better reference materials which I felt adjusted some of the model's proportions enough to warrant the work. It's surprisingly rare to find a parallax-free side-shot photo of cars sometimes, and one such as the Bentley really needs to have everything in its proper place to look right.

Hello Kolosoff, Ryan Hicks from Prototype has been silent for a long time now.. Don't know why or how, but maybe these messages can trigger something. As far as I know he never did a free download of the Jaguar in Prototype-livery.

Hello, ponytail Thanks for the information. I too have noticed, that the site for a long time is not updated. Very good models does Ryan. I have not absolutely understood there are at it these machines with an interior? Or only simple versions? We shall hope it will join our talking

Very recently I purchased a jaguar from Ryan using the site. I received it without email confirmation or comment to my email. So... I know the purchases are still being honored but he is a man of few (no) words. John
