Yea, Egen is really talented. Its just that we need a little help in texturing... i believe textures can lead to the success or fail of a model. It's really difficult for beginners because there aren't any good tutorials for textures and pepakura. If the masters can make just a small tutorial for beginners to understand the basics, it will be very grateful and will help spread the joy of papermodeling.

i don't think pepakura needs a tutorial.. you can learn it very very easy, with a little patience... as the small "tutorials" on pepkura donwnload's site, i see them as "findings" of other options that someone cannot find by it self.
but, pepakura, texturing, all that can be solved by one solution.. RHINO... rhino comes with very good tutorials.. but i really am scared by making this change in my "modeler" life..

I think that textures is the most difficult step in modeling /unfold too. I use Metasequoia and Pepakura and never use this feature in these programs because I tried but I never got good results. I think the problem is with me So, I colored my models in Adobe Illustrator, after export the unfold parts from Pepakura in .eps format. I have more work doing this, but the results are great. But it's a good suggestion if someone who knows the rigth ways, could help us with a tutorial about it.

wow... i found some interesting things in last two posts.. and i am sad, because i make the texture directly in zmodeler... it's hard, because you don't know the proportions and stuf...and then, when you finally realize something...i see it's so pixeled, though the texture resolution it's something like 4000 X 4000... and i don't know why... i'm almost shure going to start working in rhino, because that solves the trouble with unfolding too catalin

Until we get some tutorials, we'll have to rely on photoediting software. i found out some new ways of making your vehicle, etc, more realistic. Basically we have to use the 'burn' tool. Other effect for photoshop are are using brushes to add dents or so. Another neat trick is to make random patches using brushes and then 'gaussian blur' them, then sharpen it many times to get a light grainy texture. Grain is also a good way to make your model more realistic. Nice truck there catatm.

That is a big improvement. That's the sort of thing I need to learn for my models. They often look fine when thet're in the 3D software as it often casts shadows and things. However when you look at the flat pattern it looks very dull or just flat.
Burn tool, I'll remember that one.
I love the Camaro BTW and can't wait to see more of this beauty.
